We have made it just over halfway through June and are still working towards holding a Picnic for 2020. We understand it might not look like what we are all used to, but we are doing our best to put together an event for the community.
Sponsorship promises are slowly flowing in. While some of our businesses
struggled through Ohio's Stay at Home Orders, others did quite well - thanks to our wonderful community that is so supportive! We strongly encourage you to continue to support your local businesses. These owners give so much back to your community and they need you now more than ever!
Vendor applications are also flowing in. Many of your favorite vendors are planning to return. We have much enjoyed some teasers from a few of our vendors over the last few weeks. For them, many events and shows have been canceled this summer and they are just doing the best they can to bring in a source of income.
We still plan to start the event Thursday with a Praise in the Park worship service. The chamber board is working hard to put together a night for the community to come together and worship. We are working with nonprofit vendors to hopefully bring in some different games for the kids to enjoy since there will be no rides this year. Friday and Saturday will hopefully look very much like it has in the past, with our event concluding with Brookville Fireworks at 10pm Saturday, July 25th.
We still plan on following all mandates and guidelines recommended from the state and local health departments. We still have lots of unanswered questions but we are doing our best to connect with local authorities to be able to bring this event to Brookville.
